Sun.
A new video one of my friends did for her university project featuring one of my musical works. Some pretty film flickers, always a nice thing. I even make a little Martin Ruffin hat wearing cameo at the end if you end up watching that far. Praises be to jah.

Oh Life.
Everything is fascinating, not least my inability to record any of my own songs. At least business is a reality, i'm enjoying having the potential for sustainability increase with something i take seriously and put work into.
As it goes, I'm looking forward to making more sounds in the future, taking more joy in the company of others and existing. An EP i produced for Oh So Quiet has just hit completion, i'm starting work on an album for a friend, with various band and mixing obligations amongst others busying my ears and mind. Oceania as a record was expected to come to fruition before my actual next trip to said continent, but i'm pleased to say the opposite is a reality. Future.
Rambling for the sake of it i suppose, i might start putting up old stories and words, i have a few.

Sociable.
Today i kindly received a package of compilation CD's Alex Quaye of Box Social records put together. It's an assembly of mainly southern artists of which some are friends amongst others, and one of my songs from Fuck Crz is featured. It's a welcome DIY effort involved in putting things like this together, and Alex and the others involved work hard contributing to the local south east music scene in putting on good music for the sake of it, and that promotion ethic, despite being more scarce perhaps now than a few years back, is still really important to any music fan, band or artist.
You can buy said compilation for a hilariously cheap £1.50 from their Bigcartel below, there's some rad tracks on there, and it's worth supporting.

Norway.
A friend and interesting human being mentioned in passing that she was thinking of putting together a Norwegian based mixtape for the musical tape hype website she co-edits, No Fear Of Pop. Being a firm fan of idyllic Scandinavian concepts in general, i jumped at the chance to get involved, and rather than remix or cover a song by a Norwegian artist, as did the other's who contributed, i decided to remix Norway by Beach House instead(note, this choice was not in the pursuit of being different/wacky, but more a lack of understanding on my part), a fitting referential tribute in it's own right. Due to said co-editor, and woman, being hurried in assembling the zip file for this mixtape, an unfinished version got put on the final mailout, but the final version is available to listen below, as well as a link to said mixtape, entitled Omstart. It's really a beautiful collection of works that i'm proud to be amongst, hopefully some of you may enjoy it as well.

Beeches
So Tom Joseph, an old skateboarding acquaintance, emailed me a month or so back with some tracks he'd demo'd on Garageband asking what i thought, as it turned out, they were awesome so i offered to re-record them with him. He's a talented guy, singing and playing everything minus drums(which i sloppily contributed) on the recording, and considering this is the first bit of work i've done in my new home set-up, i'm really happy with how it's come out.
His Facebook page is here with the tracks available to listen, so if you're a fan of TOTBL/Antics era Interpol, Death Cab, Arcade Fire or any other amount of cool stuff go check it out.

It's still D.I.Y. if you put time and care into it guys.

^&Coming
A few things i'll be busying myself with in the next few weeks that may be interesting to some!
Producing an EP for Tom Joseph aka Beeches, Interpol/Arcade Fire esque kinda stuff that i've drummed on as well, tracking everything else next week.
Another track or more for Natalie Evans
Playing guitar/keys for a friends band at some cool shows so when i can say about that i will.
Programming drums for Adam Russell's EP, no link yet.
And finally, equipment gradually getting upgraded while my hard kitchen earned savings diminish, MAudio Ultra8R, AKG C451B, CAD M149, Rode NT5, Beyer M81, and more on the way. Hubba.
I also have a ridiculous black eye, thank you the floor.

Work Life
Zaptown kindly reviewed my EP, 3.8/5! I enjoy the musical entities that they cover, so that's a nice thing.
It's here if you'd like to see - http://www.zaptownmag.com/2011/01/in-lieu-fuck-crz-music-review
In other news, spent the last few days playing/recording drums and sorting out my various equipment issues, and have a roll of film off getting developed with some family xmas snaps. Look into my past, in the future. Whoa.

White Video.
A friend from University just sent me a video he made to one of my songs, featuring some lovely hazy visual niceties. He interned with Jamie Harley earlier in the year so it's no surprise that it's good stuff! Check out his blog We Are Painters. Thank you Sam

Having not really documented my life ever, i decided to buy a cheap SLR to try and learn the ropes of photography last September and just take some photos of my friends with. Here's a few photos from the few months since that i enjoy.

Some Recent PRZ.

I've been lucky enough to have a couple of sites put some kind words about my EP on their digital pages without even asking which is lovely, a favourite is No Fear In Pop who put a little mention here - http://nofearofpop.net/2011/01/fuck-crz/, in good company indeed. Also, it turns out those analysis gizmos that tell you where people are visiting your music from are actually kind of useful! So far this week it turns out i'm some Greek website's artist of the week here - http://www.zeugolator.gr/, and it looks like my EP's already available for illegal download which is hilarious, it's free anyway! It's been a fine week so far, jazz bands, exploring, audio retail therapy and more.
Good night.

REVIEW AND INTERVIEW WITH THE 405
The excellent humans at The 405 were kind enough to review my EP and want to ask me a few questions for the site. It's awesome, the site's always well written, a great read and considering the company i'm keeping on there music wise i'm pretty proud of this!
Check out the review here - http://thefourohfive.com/reviews/3348
and to peer into my brain, there's an interview here as well - http://thefourohfive.com/articles/4878
Jah bless, last night i went to London and looked over the city from Primrose Hill while some strangers set off fireworks, still haven't slept and am apparently at Uni hours early. Life.
