Went to see my friends in Louellen play last night at Barfly which was a good time, they've got some really good songs and i think will be putting an EP out at some point in the near future(possibly January?). Who knows, maybe i'll be producing a couple of tracks for them in the New Year as well, so keep an eye out.

FUCK CRZ.

I've had instrumentals for these songs sitting on my laptop since about July with initially the idea of figuring out live and making a set that sounded like the world exploding, but got caught up in a bunch of real life stuff, like jobs, being in housing limbo, and other human bullshit, which resulting in me losing track of everything a little.

I think the tracks came out alright and there's a few moments that i'm pretty proud of within this record, but considering i didn't write the songs with vocals in mind and kind of just stapled them on at a pretty late stage(minus Sun), it's definitely nowhere near the level that i'm happy enough with it to try and get it released properly/commit to. As a result i'm just giving it away free online, and so far it's met with a pretty warm reception, there'll hopefully be a couple of reviews and interviews on the interweb from some kind journalist types who've been into my music enough to ask, so i'll post those up as and when.

Sonically i wanted to attempt to make textures representative of some ideas i had in my head, and while some of these are just thrown in and fucked with for the sake of, there's a lot of attention to detail in the majority dedicated to getting some of the sounds in there that i wanted. It's been a fun process in any case and has given me a lot more mental headroom with regard to how i look at producing tracks for myself and others in future, which can only be a good thing. A way to pass the time/update the weary.

A lot of exciting projects ahead for 2011 and i'm going to force myself to properly record an album that's actually thought out from start to finish.
